The basket-hilted sword is a sword type of the early modern era characterized by a basket-shaped guard that protects the hand. The basket hilt is a development of the quillons added to swords' cross guards since the Late Middle Ages. Basket hilts on a curved single edge blade are very rare as most were straight bladed.
This basket hilt sabre provides a 3/4 guard and wielded by the right hand and includes a scabbard with cast “brass” features.
